The UPS Store

I would not recommend that you use this store for anything. I have had nothing but bad experiences with the staff there, especially the owner (Elroy). They are rude and show zero customer attention.I recently paid them to package and ship a very expensive sterio amplifier. The owner himself packaged the unit and assured me that it would be taken care of properly. I paid his expensive packaging fee and bought the extra insurance. When the package arrived at the destination it had broken parts and was obviously damaged during shipment. I had to send them a certified letter threatening litigation to get any kind of response from them. I was finally able to inspect the unit today. There is obvious damage (a foot had been sheered off, and the very expensive amplifier was scratched where the foot broke loose). When I tried discussing it with the owner he decided to get threatening and said that the damage wasn't that bad and he said "Good Luck getting me to pay anything". ...read more

Los Gatos couple helps local business owners with free window signs

Every locally owned business gets a free sign ~ layout included Jon and Alicia Robertson frequently tune into Turner Classic Movies. But while watching Meet John Doe staring Barbara Stanwyck and Gary Cooper, the couple had an epiphany. Frank Capra’s Oscar-nominated movie was all about the Great Depression and how people started helping each other without expecting anything back, all wrapped up in a cute love story with lots of friction.  Alicia asked Jon if there wasn’t something they themselves could do to help local business owners, many of whom were having a hard time of it during the economic downturn. After a bit of thinking, the Robertsons came up with something. They have pledged to produce one free 24x36 inch full-color poster for every locally owned business or non-profit that wants one—design and layout included. A lot of merchants are in trouble in the current economy, Alicia Robertson said. Just as in the movie, we’re going to do something to help local business owners. So many people have helped us over the years, we’d like to return the favor. The Robertsons added that their shop is already equipped to produce high quality signs and banners of all sizes, and their paper supplier agreed to support theprogram.  When my vendor heard what we were doing, he offered to sell me the paper at a greatly discounted rate, Robertson said. We’re all in this together; we need to help each other. What if every company did something like this? It could be a community challenge. 1-800 ProColor&Robertson Publishing ProColor Printing and Robertson Publishing are located at 59 North Santa CruzAvenue, in downtown Los Gatos. If your business or nonprofit is in Los Gatos, Saratoga,or Campbell, and you can use a free sign or poster, give them a call.  If you want to publish a book, print business cards, or create a brochure, they’re here for that also. Does Your Business Meet The ADA Requirements

ADA Signage ADA signage requirements do not stop at the exterior of the building. Building code requires that the interior be well labeled in an organized manner. The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) was signed into law in July of 1990. The law governs accessibility for persons with disabilities at all public places and is enforced by local building officials and the Department of Justice. Businesses must abide by these regulations to pass final inspection in order to receive occupancy permits for their businesses. All public buildings, such as hotels, restaurants, government offices, office buildings, hospitals, etc. must have ADA signage that identifies and labels all areas that are subject to ADA compliance requirements. The objective of all ADA signage guidelines is to guide and inform the user about features available inside the space such as accessible toilets and shower rooms, TTY phone rooms, break rooms, sinks and counter-tops, water fountains, etc. that will be necessary for disabled employees or visitor use.  Many ADA signs will need to comply with more than one guideline.  Not only do they need to identify the feature, they need to have high to light contrast solid background and need to include braille. The signage can be made in materials such as acrylic or aluminum. Contractors and building manager are knowledgeable about ADA signage and understand their importance. Some hardware stores sell generic versions of ADA signs but most buildings have a color palette that is not available in these stores. Pro Signs, Inc. manufactures ADA signage in any almost any color palette and can install them to required specifications. Let Pro Signs, Inc. take care of all of your ADA signage needs! For more information do not hesitate to e-mail, call, or comment.   ...read more
