CPR Certifications. What Type Is For You?

There are different types of CPR. American Red Cross and American Heart Association both have certifications for their CPR and First Aid products. Although their product names differ from one another the certification types are the same. It is important to know what type of certification you need. One Heart CPR Training certifications are through the American Red Cross.  If you have a Heart Association CPR certification that has expired you can take a class with One Heart CPR Training and obtain same certificate through American Red Cross. See the types below. Healthcare Providers CPR Certification - means that you will have training in adult, child and infant CPR/AED for 1 and 2 rescuers. You learn how to check for a pulse and how to give rescue breathing for a person who has a pulse, but not breathing. You will also use a bag valve mask and a rescue mask to give ventilation. Healthcare provider CPR is  most often required for anyone who is licensed to provide care. Lay Rescuer CPR Certification - is much more simplified. In lay rescuer, you may do adult only CPR or adult, child and infant CPR  Also, lay rescuers do not check for a pulse.  Lay rescuers also learn only 1 person CPR.  Lay rescuer CPR is most often needed for teachers, constructions workers, general workplace, etc. (AED training may or may not be required depending on your certification. Check with us for details)  CA Child Care Providers Health and Safety Certification - Certification in adult, child, infant CPR; California Child Care First Aid and California Child Care Preventative Health and Safety training standards for child care providers who own or operate a child care facility. This certification training program is in two parts of 8 hours each and is required by State of California. We also offer certification in Standard First Aid (adult, child, infant) and Basic First Aid (adult only). Most likely you might need CPR with First Aid. We have "blended" courses that offer both. Visit our web site for more details. ...read more
