I'm a foster mom and took my placement (2 months old) to Dr. Samsamy. He observed the child had a crooked leg and instructed me to do some stretching exercises. He also said he was 'eating' too much and to feed him water in between his bottles, I also requested to be on the Dr. Sears vaccine schedule (2 a month instead of 4-5 at one time) and wouldn't do it. The extra water made the child sick and he projectile vomited each day I did as instructed...The following week I was referred to a center in my area to screen for behavioral or medical issues that the baby may need in the future. The lady doing the screening is a physical therapist and instructed me the exercises Dr Samsamy told me to do on his hip can be dangerous if x-rays aren't looked at first and to request a referral to an orthopedic. I called and asked for a referral and was told by the Dr. "I am a professional and in my opinion he doesn't need x-rays" i said I understand that but I am instructed I need to get x-rays to continue therapy, he told me 8 times NO and further insulted me when I was getting emotional. Dr. Maher is honestly the most caring and compassionate doctor I have ever been to! She has been such a huge part of my family's life for the past 4 or 5 years and I feel forever grateful for all that she has done. Most recently she saved my husband's life right before our wedding and she was such a huge support not only medically but emotionally for me. She came to the hospital everyday and put our whole family at ease. She is truly a blessing and I can't imagine going to any other doctor. You can see by most of the comments (other than the 2 comments that are probably from some bitter person) that she is a wonderful and knowledgable doctor. Dr. Maher is the best doctor I've ever met. As a pharmaceutical sales person I have met most of the doctors in Los Angeles and Orange County. I chose her as my personal physician because she is smart and is always informed on diseases and new treatments on how to treat them. She is a great listener and always takes plenty of time to take care of my medical (and sometimes emotional) needs. I have always been able to get in the same day when I needed to see her right away and she calls the next day to make sure I am feeling better. When I have been in the hospital, she has come by to see me twice a day and always sends the best specialists to handle my needs.
