Ochoa's Tire & Wheel Service

1.0

By wdj2015

If I could give zero stars, I would. My car was towed to Ochoa with a flat tire. They sold me a tire that they represented to be new. I drove straight home from their shop and my car remained there until the next morning when I got up to leave for work and found the tire flat. I had another shop examine the tire and they found two pin-sized holes in the sidewall, making the tire both impossible to patch or repair and unserviceable. I ended up replacing the tire at the second shop. When I arrived at Ochoa yesterday, the "owner lady" (who I assume to be Dolores Ochoa, co-owner with her husband Elias Ochoa) intercepted me before I could even enter the lobby of their shop and was abrasive towards me from the beginning. I politely explained what happened, that I had the defective tire with me in my car, and requested to return it to them for a refund. She took exception to this, saying she'd need to have 'their warehouse' examine the tire to confirm my account, and kept going on and on about road hazard. News flash, lady: road hazard does not apply to a defective product; I did not drive over some road hazard that magically put tiny holes in the sidewall of an otherwise 'brand new' tire. She insisted on taking the tire, but flat-out refused to give me any form of receipt for taking my property, other than making some hand written notation on my original receipt. I am awaiting word from them "in a few days" to hear what kind of excuse they try to pull for not refunding my money. Interestingly, when I originally purchased the tire, I was told that their credit card machine wasn't working, but that if I paid cash, they wouldn't charge me for labor or tax. Having a flat tire and no other choice, I did so. I suppose I was lucky to have gotten a receipt at all. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH OCHOA TIRE! THEY ARE CROOKS! Read the rest of the reviews. Every negative review to date involves the same "owner lady," the same abysmal excuse for customer service, and nearly all of them involve an allegation of a defective product or service. ...read more

These guys replaced 4 tires on our SUV, upon making a U turn the front wheel came off! We had to have it towed and they refused to accept responsibility or fix it! Our mechanic inspected it and says that it was their fault and they did not put the wheels on correctly. One of the back wheels was about to come off as well they said. THis is so dangerous, don't let it happen to you. Luckily when the car began to shake my husband pulled off the freeway or this could have been a disaster! We are also lucky our kids weren't in the car. I'm writing as many of these reviews so that this doesn't happen to someone else!!! Avoid this place, they obviously employ incapable people! Now it looks like we have to call our Attorney. Come on, wheels don't just fall of cars randomly. ...read more

Purposely cleaned and inspected my rim and tire before taking it in to get it patched up. When they were done I noticed they scratched my rim. After pointing it out to them they said it couldn't have been them and I probably hit a rock coming over to the shop. They know they did it and didn't do anything to fix the problem. I watched him take the rim off my car and didn't see any scratches on my rim. Worse part is the rims are matte black so now I have a noticeable SILVER scratch on my BLACK rims!!! ...read more
