I went to Outdoor School here with my sixth grade class and it's a highlight in my life. It was so much fun that it didn't feel anything at all like school, but I learned so much from first-hand experience in nature. I fell in love with the redwoods, and despite being homesick the first few nights away from home, I was reluctant to leave on Friday since I had so much fun being in a new environment with just my friends and schoolmates and counselors who exposed us to some amazing discoveries. I remember looking at animal tracks, kissing banana slugs, peeing in the bushes, and identifying different types of plants, but what stood out for me the most was the discovery made on the night hike. Camp Loma Mar is the best camp I've ever been to. When you're there your cabin makes you a group of sistes or brothers. You'll be with everyone at campfire, dinner, and breakfast. Lunch is a pcnic with your naturalist group. No matter what, Camp Loma Mar is the best camp ever. ...read more
