Pacific Mobile Home Park

The new owner has installed Star Management Co., which has an extremely poor reputation, to administer ridiculous space rent increases. In June 2013, rent increased across the board for $100. In January, 2014, rent increases are going up between $97-$400 per month, depending on what was decided during a drive-by "property inspection" of each space in the park. Currently the lowest rent in here is $1475 for new residents. Sounds cheap until you see the condition of the property. These people are slum lords, and so far, have done absolutely no upgrades in the park whatsoever. The laundry room is trashy and rundown, as is the pool area, gym (non working equipment, mostly), and clubhouse. The jacuzzi currently does not work. They have already had a series of temporary park managers since June and no resident managers. This is an immoral situation-many people here are on fixed incomes, or are lower income, and will be forced to walk away from their homes with these rent increases. This used to be a nice little community and people look out for one another here. There is a special place in hell for these new owners. ...read more

Sea-Aira Mobile Estate

When my husband and I, in our early 20's, moved here nearly 10 years ago, we were expecting it to be temporary. However, with the way the housing market sky rocketed, we felt selling, while we would've made a nice little profit, wouldn't be smart. We couldn't have afforded to purchase anywhere else. We had a great manager when we first moved in. She retired, and we ended up going through a few managers, before we got our current managers. They are WONDERFUL! They take care of this place. They maintain it very well, and have continued to upgrade the clubhouses. Contrary to what Jes675 stated, I don't find the newsletters to be anything more than informative, and humorous. The letters we receive for unmaintained property are NOT selective, and are not threatening. They are usually a form where the manager checks off a box that lists which violation you're in. They sign it, and put it in your mail tube. Again, the property here is very well maintained. As for each space, it is up to the owner to maintain their property. The neighbors can be irritating, but that is true for any place a person lives. Some neighbors are great, some not so great. We love Sea Aira. The location is nice. It's exactly 3 miles from the ocean. The property is nice. It's close to the post office and shopping stores, and it's in the Ocean View school district. ...read more
