Free education on the merchant processing industry. Beware of targeted scams like someone calls your office and states they are with the quotes department are performing a free routine check up on your merchant services to review and offer a possible lower rate. Most times the merchant thinks the person on the phone is calling from the current processor but 9 out of 10 times its a new company. Nothing wrong with a competitive quote but to word it in a way the merchant is led to believe the sales person is with the current provider is so misleading and unprofessional. Does it work........sometimes but to mislead a merchant who is believing that its the same company......That's aweful! Always check with your current provider before agreeing to meet someone. They may or not be aware of it. It is a courtesy and the processor or sales exec should appreciate it. If not and you aren't happy anyways then make the appointment and allow them to come. Beware, I have had scenarios where I wasn't made aware and when I came in to visit the merchant was placed in a 4 yr lease on the terminal and merchant wasn't aware its not able to cancel or the length of time to commit. She was stuck with a $49 per month x 48 months = $2352.00 terminal when I could have sold it to her @ my cost for $300.00. Use your best judgment and if nothing else contact us for a free consult.
