Guerneville is a town in the Russian River Valley that is a census-designated place in Sonoma County, California. As of the 2000 census, its population was 2,441. It has a small town charm and is a popular family destination, gy resort, and camping center. Major attractions include a public beach area in the heart of town along the Russian River where there is fishing, swimming, and boating. It is gy friendly with lot of gy bars. There is an annual Lazy Bear Weekend in late summer and a Polar Bear Weekend, in January. The older metal truss bridge has been filmed in movies such as 'Mumford.'
