On 3/19, I purchased under 5lbs of mixed seed / treat, the cost was 40.00. What I was looking to purchase was quality food without any nutritional deficiencies, what I ended up with was seed and treat loaded with bugs that had been consuming the food. When I spoke to the "Bird Expert" the next day, I was told to put the container into the freezer for an hour to kill the bugs off. Is this person qualified to determine the health of eating a frozen bug that may then be stored un-froozen for days / weeks later?? How does that de-grade the nutritional food value? Yes, birds do eat protein in the wild BUT I do not need to have insects introduced into my home, nor do I need to feed a substandard food that may have ill effects on the growth / health of my young bird ...read more
