Very authentic Mexican tasting food. Love the refried beans and rice. The chicken tacos and tamales are the best! I take my family here for special occassions. Been coming here for 25 years and have always been treated with respect and kindness from the staff. Only one wrong order in 25 years and they corrected the problem without question. ...read more

Mighty Mouth Burgers

3.0

By HyeVon68 at Citysearch

So I had a burger urge and this joint happened to be on my way. The inside is clean with a seating area that's typical of many independently owned burger joints. Ordered their chiliburger combo which came with huge steak fries sprinkled with a good dose of seasoned salt, and a drink. Their chiliburger had cheese, tomatoes, onions, pickles and mustard. Not bad for a $6 combo. Interestingly, the top of their menu reads ""Formerly Tommies"". And interestingly, their prices mirror the other, original ""Tommy's"". So I put 2 & 2 together and figured they're called Mighty Mouth now because they probably got in trouble ripping off the Tommy's name. Are the burgers good? Yes. Are the prices fair? Yes. Are they greasy like a previous post mentioned? Look, - it's a burger, what do you expect? The beef patties are thin like In-N-Out, so I wouldn't consider them greasy. Would I come here again? Only if my hunger can't wait. The thing is that the food was satisfying but left me feeling ripped off by an imitation. Really, if you're in the mood for a chiliburger, the original Tommy's isn't too far from here...It's right by Galpin Ford. Might as well make the drive there and get the real thing. ...read more

The Odyssey Restaurants

We had A wonderful experience At the Odyssey resturaunt this Valentine's evening. Unfortuneltley we were not able to sit at a table @ the window, but the view was still tremendous. Our waiters were Lou and Jesus, and they were simply tremendous. Not only was the service exceptional, it was classic, the way they song Happy Anniversary, the experience reminded me of my days of eating @ some of the finest establishments, in N.Y.C, Tavern On The Green is a perfect example in Central Park. My wife of 46 years orderd the Duet which Lou recommended saying"the combination of Filet migon and Shrimp scampi, was the best of both worlds seafood, & beef: I myself orderd the filet of oscar, Im not kidding you, this was the best Filet mignon Ive ever had no offense to the neighbors but as the waiter said the filet is the most tender with the least amount of fat. Louie said they had the best chef in the USA also named Jesus and he wasnt kidding. Even though, as i understand it the menu was special that evening the waiters said they would accomadate us in the future with anything we wanted as long as they had the product , and if they didnt Jesus offerd to go the store and get what I wanted, now that is service, ill never forget that.I highly recommend this restaurant, not only for the view, service, and food they simply made us feel like family it was A real experience which is so hard to find these days in Los Angeles,. We definetly will be back, and recommend The Odyssey to others and as the waiters mentionded there not a chain but they have other resturaunts the Castway is one, just call the Odyssey and they will tell you about one of there fine establishments close to you. OUTSTANDING, & definetly worth the money,& simply made my night. We are headed back this friday for the salsa lessons and the movie tickets Louie & Jesus provided. Hopefully we will see you there. ...read more

I love my pizza thick, doughy and with good quality ingredients...and this place never steers me wrong! I've eaten everything, and the only thing I haven't liked there is that they don't have a public restroom. Their calzones are to die for. I really love the slaughterhouse five pizza, with pepperoni, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Their thin crust is good, but go for the original! One piece will fill you up, but I bet you eat more! The only other pizza place in the valley I will even eat is Paoli's in Woodland Hills, but if you are on the north side, check this place out...plus the guys who work there are so down to earth, straight forward, and friendly. Oh, the salads are really fresh and delicious, especially if you get their garlic bread too! ...read more
