Calvary Chapel

If you want to learn the word of God, worship and serve, this is the church to be at. If you just want to be served, this is the place to learn how to serve. Jesus came to serve and not to be served: "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." Mathew 20:28. Getting involved in serving is where the real Christian growth is and it's an awesome way to meet many other people and be part of the family of Christ. \t\n\t\nThis church also has a great children's ministry where they also learn and grow at their level, I would be totally irresponsible to try and bring my children in with me to the main sanctuary where the study topics are for life situations that apply to grown adults.\t\n\t\nI highly recommend CCSouthbay if you really are serious about your Christian walk. ...read more

We usually go to Cottonwood and my kids ages 12 and 10 goes to the regular church since they said it is more in dept and they understood it more. We tried going to Calvary chapel because I wanted to introduce the kids to this church but we were stopped at the door (after getting there 20 mins early before the service) and said kids are not allowed inside. They want us to go to a room with a big TV screen to watch the service. I might as well be at home. Kids don't want to go to the kids ministry. They want to go with us their parents. Now I have to miss Greg Laurie's event because of this. Not a friendly church to kids. We just stuck to Cottonwood in Los Alamitos where every form, shape and size are welcome. ...read more
