TODAY, my wife went to G&R to have a flat tire repaired. She had first gone to that other big store with the big red letters (initials D.T.). They told her, "Sorry. It can't be repaired. And since your tires are partially worn, we need to sell you TWO NEW TIRES!" She said no and went home. The tire that needed to be fixed had a large nail stuck in the tread and not near a sidewall. A hole in a tire can be patched if it is not over 1/4 inch in diameter. At G&R, they had no problem patching the tire and did not try to upsell us. The people at G&R are truly special. As a small local business, their reputation is the key to their success given the enormous draw of the huge chain stores. G&R employees seem to genuinely care about each customer. G&R only charged a small fee. It was so little that my wife paid double and said to share it with the crew. Even then it was silly cheap.
