Suzuki Musical Instrument Corp 1 BEWARE of this company!!! They were sent 3 new Suzuki digital pianos for repair Nov. 2007. They said they sent 1 back. Four years later, I'm still waiting for another piano. I've placed numerous calls to all their service reps since 2007. No one returns a call. The present rep, Matt Harpster states, "It's too long ago, they no longer have records'. I am out a $$$$ piano. ...read more

Gift certificates

We will be offering gift certificates for this year.   If you are planning on buying a guitar or keyboard or drums for your child for Christmas, you are going to want lessons, too.  We can send you a gift certificate for 4 lessons that will help your budding musician get started on their instrument. Also, if we are already teaching your child or grand child, gift certificates for lessons make a wonderful Christmas gift.    ...read more

Back to School

In a few short weeks kids will be back in school.  Some will be moving from elementary school and others to high school and even others will be going for their first day of school.  Now is also a good time to start thinking about having your child start music lessons.  They can begin their new lessons the same time they begin their new school year.  Homework and practicing can be combined.  It is a much easier transition to do when your child starts their new school year.  I also want to take this time to remind everyone to stop by our website and look around.  We have so many new group classes starting and even some seminars that you may be interested in.  We also have a restringing workshop, so if your child is having trouble with putting on new guitar strings, have them stop by.  It is also a nice workshop for adults who have just picked up the instrument and others just starting.  Remember we are open in the afternoons, but we do open our doors for those that like to take a tour of the studio and see if it is a good fit for them.  We are proud of Music Time and like to show it off, along with our teachers, so don't hesitate to call us for an appointment. I am very excited to let everyone know about Music Time's new charity, the Music Education Project.  We have printing up new t-shirts, that you can purchase at the store (on the website) with all the proceeds going to our charity. Many of our t-shirts have the studio logo, but we also have some clever ones.  Like t-shirt's for drummers that say, "I've got blisters on my fingers....Ringo Starr".  The Music Education Project is a charity that was started so that we would be able to provide free lessons and free instruments for students.  Once our donations grow we will be offering the Darrell B. Bruce Music Scholarship, that will give one deserving student a yearly scholarship of free lessons.  So, stay tuned for that. I also wanted to remind everyone that Music Time is available to the East County community.  Calls us if you would like one of our teachers to stop by your school and give a talk about music or for the older students, how to make a career out of being a music teacher, or have some one come by to teach a Bongosize class, our new low-impact music/exercise class. Lastly, I want to introduce Free Riott (see picture above).  They are a group of our students that have been taking lessons for little over a year.  Our senior teacher joined them together in our rock class and from there they formed their own rock band called Free Riott.   They love to play and are looking for opportunities to play at events.  So, if you have an public event coming up, call the studio and we will see if they can play at your event.  You can also see a video of them playing at the Santee Street Fair. We have posted back to school coupons this week, so go ahead and print them out and offer them to your friends. ...read more
