G & K Management runs Beck Park Apartments in North Hollywood, which I moved into in August of '09 to find the place infested with cockroaches. After 6 months of fumigation, moving our stuff in and out of the apartment, the matter was (mostly, but not completely) settled.\t\n\t\nThen we come to find out that management's copies of our keys (and those of several tenants) had gone missing from the main office, though they "knew who [took them], so there's nothing to worry about." What?\t\n\t\nSeveral maintenance issues went unresolved for upwards of 6 months at a time, though - like clockwork - the water to the entire complex (2 buildings, 120 units) was shut off at least once per month.\t\n\t\nFinally got out of here, only to find that our thorough cleaning and the itemized receipt of our initial inspection walkthrough were meangingless: we still got nickeled and dimed for outrageous - even illegal - charges. Thanks to us having everything in writing and photos of the cleaning job we did, we got almost all of our money back. But the hassle and lengths we had to go to were extreme, and left us feeling cheated even with our money refunded. This place is a garbage pit, and G & K Management Co. and then-manager Monica are a pack of thieves.\t\n\t\nThis whole experience was a hose-job, and I can't possibly warn you enough how bad it was. ...read more
