Dr. Ledoux treated me like I was his erring child, not a 40 something adult. He consistently forgets significant events (like who molested me as a child -come on, please take notes!) and vacillates between chastising me for issues I'm struggling with then being compassionate. He completely forgets what I told him in the previous session ( and worse, he then has a completely different response to the same issue). I can tell he was an insightful therapist at one time, but the line of 9 joints (lined up in plain view on his filing cabinet one session) and the bong on his bookshelf pretty much explain the kind of insight you're going to receive now. It's a shame, really, because you can tell he once cared and every so often, he still shows his gift of insight, but he's just not trustworthy, especially if you're already emotionally fragile. ...read more

Called to ask for appointment to discuss therapy for 13 y.o. son. At the session, after situation was explained and discussed, told us "outpatient therapy doesn't work for adolescents." Contacting a couple of other Psy. D.'s and Ph.D. psychologists convinced us Dr. LeDoux's opinion is in the minority. One psychologist, who specializes in children etc, found Dr. LeDoux' opinion "unbelievable". It's strange that he accepted an appointment to discuss the possibility of outpatient therapy for our 13 y.o. child if he doesn't think it works! Before I really checked all of this out, Dr. LeDoux had referred us to a very expensive in-patient placement "consulting" firm whose name he had "on the tip of his tongue." I should have done a bit more homework, but if a guy has a license to practice and seems old enough to have a lot of experience, you take someone's word at face value. I think this was my mistake!
