If you have any interest in Geodes, you don't want to miss this place. My kids and I have been going to the Geode Shop at Knotts Berry Farm for ten years and just love it. When we lived in So Cal, we used to go at least once a year. Now that we live out of state, we make a point to stop by and cut open a bunch of geodes every time we're there. They have knowledgeable staff that can help you chose a rock then cut it in a way to maximize the crystals inside. And they have a variety of sizes and prices of rocks to cut open. I'm not sure which is more fun - watching the faces of the people as they watch the rocks get opened or seeing all the interesting and beautiful crystals inside. It's like opening a "grab bag" surprise every time. You never know what you'll find. There are also all kinds of fossils, crystals and rocks on display and for sale, if you don't want a geode.
