About Me
Hello. My name is Victoria Blair and I'm the proud owner of Pets And The City Mobile Grooming Salon. We've been in business for four years now and I'm so grateful to all my awesome customers who let me care for their pets! I love you all! I have 20-plus years experience working with animals. I grew up on a ranch on the Morongo Indian Reservation where we raised goats, pigs, cows, chickens, rabbits, ducks and I, at last, (!) got to own horses. We also had several Austrialian Shepherds and they patiently put up with all my brushing, bathing and primping. The minute I was old enough to work, I landed a job at the local veterinary hospital where I learned enormous information about the health and welfare of dogs and cats. After several years at the vet hospital, I realized I still wanted to continue working with animals, but craved a different experience. That's when I started working in a very successful grooming salon as a brusher and bather. I remained there for even more years watching highly skilled groomers sculpt masterpieces with a loving touch. It hadn't even occured to me to enter the field of dog grooming yet. Through the years, my resume would include working at an ostrich ranch as a chick manager, (yes, that was my real title) to managing and implementing new procedures at a guide dog school kennel, to working closely with the top orthopedic veterinary surgeon in the country. After the births of my two children, and being a stay at home mom, I knew I wanted to return to work, but wanted something that would be flexible enough to allow me time with my children. After many days in prayer seeking answers, I decided to attend grooming school at West Paw Grooming Academy in San Bernardino. After an intensive training program, and several months and hours away from my family, I was ready to enter the world of dog grooming, and Pets And The City Mobile Grooming Salon was born. One of my main goals within this company is to offer the best customer service with good, old fashioined values. I would have never even considered opening an animal related business with out my years of previous training. Unlike human hair dressers, dog groomers are not required to be licensed by the state in which they live. This means anyone with a pair of clippers and acess to a bathtub could call themselves a dog groomer. I continue to stay current with the latest scientific and technological developments through continuing education seminars, workshops, trade networking and industry publications. ...read more
