OUTSTANDING RESTUAURANT!!!

My husband and I went to Woodlands on our anniversary and we were delighted! The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is beautiful as well as comfortable. Our server was very attentive, enthusiastic, and was obviously proud to work at this restaurant- and I can see why! The food was AMAZING! My husband ordered the NY Strip with the red wine au jus and it was just too die for (this says a lot about the restaurant because my husband orders a steak every time we dine out and this was by far the best steak he has had as far back as he can remember). It was juicy, cooked to perfection, and served with just the right amount of jus, along with asparagus spears and barley. Fantastic! We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and were pleasantly surprised by the unique, delicious flavor of the sauce and the fruit used. We order this dish almost every ime we see it on a menu and I do not hesitate to say that the calamari at Woodlands is the best we have ever had. I ordered the Ceder plank salmon and was BLOWN AWAY by the mixture of the Macadamia nut crust, the fresh fruits and vegetables it was served with, and the obvious ceder flavor of the salmon. The citrus allowed the dish to be much less "fishy" than salmon can be sometimes. For dessert we had the chocolate snowball and we were again very impressed- it was wonderful! Quite decadent without being heavy.. So all in all, from the time we were greeted at the door until the time we left- we were delighted with our experience. As we eat out approximately once every week, it says a great deal about Woodlands that we would feel strongly enough to rate a restaurant at all, much less to rave about every aspect of the experience. The service was impeccable, the food was outstanding, and we will be returning to Woodlands very, very soon...

not worth the money. Large differences between menu description and actual food.

The interior of the restaurant is a very nice atmosphere to bad the food doesn't live up to the atmosphere. \t\n\t\nThe salad's are drenched in dressing, the Caesar dressing tastes like mustard which overwhelms all other flavors in the salad.\t\n\t\nThe steaks come out smothered in a steak sauce. The menu mentions nothing about this sauce. Steaks should be able to stand on there own, especially for a place that is considered a steakhouse.\t\n\t\nThe Cedar plank Salmon is arrives on a cedar plank but the grill marks on the bottom of the salmon and the lack of any smoldering on the cedar indicate the only time it ever saw the cedar was on the way to the table from the kitchen. The Salmon is also described as Macadamia nut encrusted. Good luck finding and trace of the macadamia nuts. Its mostly breadcrumbs, salt, and more salt. \t\n\t\nWith the atmosphere, I expected more. I was deeply disappointed. \t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n
