Look elsewhere

If you actually want to learn to dance, don't take classes from her. Her students that have been with her for years and are in the advanced class are terrible. It's really unfortunate. If you want your child to have a proper dance education, look elsewhere. Don't waste your time and money.

A wonderful teacher and studio

My daughter just finished her second year of ballet and I love Mrs. Treon. By the looks of her older students I would think that she is in fact teaching proper dance and she certainly seem to me to know the french terms! All the families I know whose children attend are quite happy with her. She is very kind to the children while still keeping a very orderly class. She does not force you to buy expensive shoes and really gets to know the girls and treats them all with kindness and respect. I think her attitude cultivates a child's natural love of dance. I come from NYC too and I think she is better than the teachers I encountered there.

Not a place I would recommend

I moved to this area after living in New York and dancing there my whole life. I was trying to find a dance studio to continue dancing with, and so I went to Treons School of Dance. It was terrible. She does not teach technique at all - the girls that have been studying with her their whole lives cannot do anything. They don't even know the proper french terms. I would have never guessed they had been there for years. It saddened me that they think they are getting a good dance education by going there. If you or your child want to actually learn how to dance, go elsewhere. There are plently of other good schools in the area.
