Bigot

Made an appointment here for a new patient cleaning/exam and was interested in possibly having some veneers fixed that I got years ago... everything went well until Dr. Boyd came in and made small talk and found out I was in a same-sex relationship(we moved here to be closer to my partner's family). His manner abruptly changed--NO mistaking that and even the assistant seemed uncomfortable by how he was acting.. Suddenly, he was no longer interested in making a plan for the veneers whatsoever, and even repeatedly said wrt a tooth that "IF you want to come back for another cleaning we could look at them then.". I also have a several year old crown that has always bugged me and I had brought up about having that replaced, even before I made the first appt via phone and was told that Dr. Boyd often does simple endo/crown procedures and does not automatically refer out--well, the minute I brought that up he said "I can get you in with someone else if you want my referral". Basically, he made it crystal clear that he did not care about me nor want me as a patient simply due to who I am. Obviously, I am happy to oblige and will never enter his office again.Ever.

I find it sad that in this day and age a supposedly
educated person would be so ignorant and homophobic. I advise against this place if you are lgbt or care about those that are--and for clarification purposes, because I'm sure the dentist would completely deny this or paint me as some kind of patient from hell or something, the
ONLY factor that changed in my interaction was him
finding out my spouse was female and not male. I have zero issues with dentists in general --my father was a periodontist for 30+ years.

Don't learn the hard way

I ignored the negative reviews due to this dentists glowing Google reviews, which I'm now sure that they're made up and left by him or his friends, as others claimed, because an hour after I posted a 1 star review, it "disappeared".
I was seen for a toothache that had bothered me the entire weekend. After an xray was taken of it and Dr. Boyd finally came in, he did a 10 second examination of the tooth and claimed there was 'nothing' wrong with it and 'nothing showed on the xray' (which I was never shown) I explained that I found this hard to believe given the symptoms that I was having--he abruptly cut me off and said" sorry, nothing I can do" and went out in the hall and started talking with the other staff. I REGRET ever having gone to this place, wasting my insurance money and taking time off of work. The next day I ended up going to Fairview where they were actually compassionate and reasonable and fixed my CAVITY, which was glaringly obvious even to the naked eye, according to both the hygienist and dentist.

NOT the good practice it was prior to 2011

Please do not waste your time, money, or sanity by seeing Dr. Eric Boyd. He is by far the worst dentist I've ever had the displeasure of seeing, and unprofessional to boot. Google him for the real reviews--he gets his staff's family and his personal acquaintances to give him fake 5 star reviews. If you pay attention, "coincidentally" the positive reviews always address whatever negative review has been left and/or denigrates one of the good dental practices in town. Completely pathetic.
