Windshield Damage: Repair or Replace??

If your windshield has a surface chip, but there are no dark spots under the chipped area, it means that the damage has not gone all the way through the first layer of glass, and generally does NOT need to be repaired: this is a cosmetic problem only. If your windshield has a chip with a dark spot under it that looks like a star, bullseye, half circle, etc., and the total damaged area is smaller that the size of a quarter, it can likely berepaired.
