Independence Place at Fort Hood

Horrible management. They have unethical business practices and will try to scam you for all of your money. They require a 2 month notice when moving- even though I signed a short term lease. This clause is not explicitly stated in the lease. I think a class action lawsuit should be filed and everyone should get their damages reimbursed.

Independence may seem like a very nice place to live, it is very appealing due to its location to FT. Hood and seems clean on the up front. Once moved in you will shortly find that management is slow and has no care or concern for your issues with the apartment except to collect your money on the 1st of every month. Senior level management seems to be somewhat concerned with problems, however the day to day employes must have been hired from a Walmart parking lot. For the amount of money an individual pays for rent you would think that they could hire smart people who would not give you an attitude when they realize that you asked something intelligent and they don't understand. Overall I would suggest looking around for a much cheaper place to rent. In fact for the price that you pay at Independence you can rent half of a duplex and have none of the problems. Wish I had thought of that 6 months ago. Good luck your search for quality living in Killeen.
