I have an iPod touch that shuts off after 10 min or so right after a full charge. The iPod won't turn back on until I plug it back up to a charger in which it still says its still says its fully charged, any ideas?

MY DAUGHTER LEFT HER PHONE ON THE CAR AND IT GOT THROWED TO THE PAVEMENT. WE JUST GOT THE PHONE A FEW MONTHS AGO AND I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO BUY A NEW PHONE.
