MSME means Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise and under the MSMED Act, 2006 it is mainly classified into two types:

1.    MANUFACTURING SECTOR: The enterprises which are engaged in manufacture or production of goods or investment in plant & machinery for processing of final product which has a distinct name or use.

 

Ø Micro Enterprises: Investment in plant & machinery should not exceed Rs.25 lakhs.

Ø Small Enterprises: investment in plant & machinery should not exceed Rs.5 crores.

Ø Medium Enterprises: The investment in plant & machinery should not exceed Rs. 10 crore.



 

2.    SERVICE SECTOR: The enterprises which are engaged in providing or rendering of services are covered under this.

 

Ø Micro Enterprises: Investment in equipment’s should not exceed Rs. 10Lakhs

Ø Small Enterprises:Investment in equipment’s should not exceed Rs. 2 crores

Ø Medium Enterprises: Investment in equipment’s should not exceed Rs. 5 crores
