No case is too big or too small for us

Karp&Weiss is an AV-rated law firm, the highest rating that any law firm can achieve. Tucson has been home for Karp & Weiss, and its predecessors since 1985. Our clients deal with only one attorneyWe believe that every client is entitled to have the primary representation of a single attorney who knows all about the case and is consistently available to the client. Although complex litigation matters often require the services of more than one of ourattorneys, we do not "shuttle" our clients from one attorney to another. Whether a particular case is principally handled by a partner or an associate, our client is assured of high quality service and efficient teamwork. Plaintiff or defense firm? You do not have to choose--we do bothMost law firms either represent plaintiffs or defendants. We know that trial and litigation attorneys have to have experience on both sides. Within ethical limits, we represent plaintiffs or defendants in the various areas of our practice. For example, although we have litigated on behalf of numerous injured victims in personal injury cases, we also have represented corporations and insurance companies in defense of such claims. This diversity in cases is invaluable experience in providing the optimal representation for our clients. Debt collection looms large as legal plan issue

By Editorial Staff January 5, 2011 In a sign of the times, the 38 independent provider law firms associated with Pre-Paid Legal Services across the United States and four Canadian provinces responded to more than 79,000 requests to handle debt-collection issues in the first half of 2010 – accounting for 7% of the 1.1 million overall requests for assistance during that time frame. The carrier says lawsuits related to these issues are often used as a tool to frighten consumers. "We're seeing much more of it now than we ever did," according to Michael Fiffk, an attorney with Welch, Gold and Siegel, P.C. David Bloom, an attorney with Evans, Lowenstein, Shimanovsky&Moscardini;, Ltd., recently drafted a letter on behalf of a client requesting proof of debt, which resulted in the legal action being dropped because no such documents could be produced. "In all too many instances," he noted, "these debt buyers and their legal counsel are counting on uninformed consumers to simply pay up whether the debt is authentic or not." In other Pre-Paid Legal news, the company recently launched a 30-minute promotional and recruitment program on the Fox Business Network and reported that additional segments featuring various legal eagles are in development.     ...read more

Tucson Divorce with a Paralegal costs less than a Phoenix Divorce!

Tucson Divorces are Faster and Cheaper! It's amazing but true! Getting a Divorce in Tucson is actually faster than getting a Divorce in Phoenix? How is that possible? Well in Arizona there is a statutory waiting period of 61 days however, the local rules of procedure for Divorce in Tucson, Pima County, are such that I can submit your Decree for Divorce to the Judge along with your Motion and Affidavit for Judgment by Default without a Hearing on the 61st day and on average the Judge signs it in less than one week! Compare that to Phoenix, Arizona, Maricopa County! If I submit the Decree and Motion and Affidavit for Judgment by Default without a Hearing on the 61st day in Phoenix, your Decree goes to a separate department called the Family Court Administrator who sits on your Decree for a minimum of 6 weeks! So, local rules do matter!  If you have no children and your Divorce qualifies for Judgment without a Hearing why not file in Pima County! It's faster, less hassle and guess what? A Divorce in Tucson has a lower filing fee in Pima County than in Maricopa County.  You can even save money! Call today and file your Divorce in Tucson! You will be glad you did! ...read more

Legislature raises court fees - some by 44 percent!

A.J. FLICKTucson Citizen The Arizona Legislature added a last-minute provision to the state budget bill that raises common court filing fees - from marriage licenses to evictions - many as much as 44 percent. "People who use the court system should be the ones who pay for it," said Cari Gerchick, communications director for the Arizona Supreme Court. "The Legislature and the Governor's Office asked the courts as a branch to come up with ideas, knowing that we would be needing to make cuts," Gerchick explained. "This was an idea to replenish (the court's budget), as well as emphasize that people who use the courts are those who should pay for part of the operation." Pima County Superior Court Clerk Patricia Noland said the fees will be a hardship to many....Read More... I don't know how this man was able to become an attorney. He has altered permanent records, concocted numerous lies under oath, does not follow the law he is paid and took an oath to do, completely unprofessional, has the maturity of a three year old, will take advantage of all he can. Hold on to your money and hire a real attorney. ...read more

I have retained Jack since 1998 for my company and personal issues. Having dealt with dozens of lawyers in the past 60 years, Jack is a gem. Never once gave me bad advice or suggested anything unethical. I would imagine any negative comments about Mr. Assini are the result of someone not getting what they wanted. It is difficult to believe rude comments from someone who cannot spell dishonest. Reference Æsop’s Sour Grapes, “It is easy to despise what you cannot get.” Glen Griffin, Scottsdale ...read more
