Condenser coils– It is situated in the outdoor unit of the air conditioner. Being situated outdoor they are more exposed to the changing weather, dirt, grass etc. The dirt can build up on the coils. This build-up decreases the efficiency of the system, hence increases the electricity bills. When condenser gets very dusty, it can completely break down your system. Condenser coils need cleaning on a regular basis. Generally, the best time is just before the arrival of the summer so that you can enjoy the uninterrupted services of your air conditioner in the scorching heat of the summer. Air filters– Air filters of your air conditioner system should be changed in every three months if you want your system to function properly. When ignored these dirty filters can block the airflow leading to freezing of the evaporator coil. Dirty filters can decrease the efficiency of your air conditioner and can increase the electricity bill. Replacement of the filters is not an expensive job, you can do it yourself or you can call a technician for the same. Lubrication– Maintenance procedure involves lubrication of the moving parts of the air conditioner. It prevents the wear and tear of the parts and ensures its longevity. Electrical components and controls– Faulty and lose components can severely affect the efficiency of the system and also put the component of the air conditioner in the risk of permanent damage. The lifespan of the system– Preventive maintenance increases the lifespan of your system for few years. An air conditioner works for 12- 15 years and after that, it demands the replacement.
