The Disney Company has been making animated movies since the year 1937 and has continued to provide great entertainment to children and adults of all ages. The next time you sit down with family, on a nice afternoon to get together and watch a Disney Movie, consider a few Disney classics, which are some of the top Disney movies of all time.


  1. Bambi- Released in 1942, the classic tale of the lovable, sweet little deer. The story tells how the little deer grows up and makes his way in life. Having been known as the prince of the forest, Bambi makes friends with other woodland animals that help teach him the ways of life.

  2. The Little Mermaid- Released in 1989, the wonderful story of Ariel, the daughter of King Triton who wants to be anywhere but under the sea. When she meets Ursula, she makes a deal with her that turns out to be trouble. Along the way, she is coached to behave herself by the lovable lobster Sebastian who tries to get her to see the error of her ways. Finally she meets the prince of her dreams.

  3. Pocahontas- Released in 1995, the touching take of a beautiful Indian girl who is the daughter of the tribal chief and the English soldier she meets in the woods during a war invasion. Pocahontas is free in her woods to roam and play with her many animal friends. However, she is to be married to another man chosen by her father. This story teaches us that love knows no boundaries even among people that are not necessarily from the same way of life.

  4. Toy story- Released in 1995, tells the story of Woody the cowboy toy and his adventures with Buzz Light-year. Through the many funny antics, Woody comes to be friends with Buzz Light-year who refuses to admit that he is, in fact, also a toy. The movie was so popular it spawned two more sequels, each as good as the first.

  5. The Fox and the Hound- Released in 1998, is very unique story because a  fox and a dog usually don't run in the same circles. Well not these two lovable animals, they grow up being the best of friends. Throughout their young lives they run and play in the woods near their home. However, when they grow up, as to be expected, things become tough when Cooper the dog becomes a hunting dog and his friend Tod the fox is who he is supposed to hunt. The movie ends up being a lovable sweet story.

  6. Aladdin- Released in 1992, is the story of Princess Jasmine and her love Aladdin who does not come from the same means of life as Jasmine. He has only his little monkey friend Abu to keep him company as he lives on the street. Through the story while trying to make his life better Aladdin runs into the comical genie voiced by Robin Williams.

  7. 101 Dalmatians- Released in 1961, is about a man and a women meet and get married, their Dalmatians fall in love too. The Dalmatians have puppies. Fifteen puppies. The story tells of the nasty Cruella De Vil and her dirty deeds to use the pups for fashion reasons. She collects puppies and has a total of 101 puppies including the 15. Its all hilarity and chaos with the puppies trying to escape and get back home to their owners and bring their many friends too.

  8. Cinderella- Released in 1950, is the story of the sweet young girl who becomes her evil stepmothers housemaid after her father passes away. She is to do everything around the house as well as cater to her stepsisters. This is the story of how she gets to go to a special dance with the help of a fairy godmother and her little animal friends how. There she meets the prince of her dreams.

  9. Dumbo- Released in 1941, is the story of the lovable circus elephant with the big ears who comes out golden after going through the many trials of life. It goes to show that everyone is different but that everyone deserves love and friendship.

  10. The Lion King- Released in 1994, is the story of the lion king Simba. His evil uncle Scar makes him think he has killed his father so he leaves his home. After years away from his home, he goes home to claim his rightful title of king, overthrow Scar, and avenge his father Mufasa's death. Filled with great music and uplifting story it will delight young and old alike.

  11. Beauty and the Beast- Released in 1991, is the story of Belle and the Beast.  The Beast is holding Belle's father hostage and Belle comes up with an idea for the Beast to release him.  She offers herself to the beast.  Over time, Belle and the Beast fall in love because she can see inside him and notices the prince that he truly is.  Filled with wonderful music and dancing, this timeless classic will have all little girls wanting to find their own prince and fairytale.

  12. Lady and the Tramp- Released in 1955, is one of the sweetest, romantic Disney movies yet. The story about a dog from the streets that gets together with a dog from an upper class home. They fall in love and decide to be together no matter what.

  13. The Aristocats- Released in 1970, another one of the best animal films from Disney. Duchess is a cat with three kittens. Her owner dies and leaves her a fortune. However, the butler wants it instead and tries to do away with her and her kittens.
