How to Use a K2 Meter When Ghost Hunting
A ghost hunter is someone who studies the existence of ghosts; they then use this information in an attempt to prove their existence. Some use a K2 meter and many other pieces of equipment in their search for knowledge on the existence of ghosts. This is a field that is popular, as many people wonder if ghosts truly exist or not.
- Insert batteries into the K2 meter by removing the battery cover plate. You will need to have the appropriate screwdriver to loosen the screw holding the plate in place. Set the cover in a safe place and remove the old batteries, replacing with new ones.
- Replace the battery cover and screw the removed screw back in tightly until it is securing the battery cover door.
- Turn on the K2 meter by pressing down the LED button that is usually located in the center of the K2 meter. Ensure that the instrument is on and that all lights have activated. Some models may have an LED button to turn them on; others may have a manual switch that turns them on and off.
- Place a piece of electrical tape over the power switch to ensure that you do not accidentally bump the switch while working. This precaution will save you from possible problems later.
- Begin your search by walking around the area of the house where you suspect there is a ghost or presence. Move slowly and deliberately to avoid shaking the meter while you are walking.
- Hold the K2 meter at an arm’s length away from your body as steadily as possible. The steadier the meter is, the more accurate of a reading it will be able to obtain for your research. You will want to look for spikes on the meter to indicate the presence of a ghost.
TIP: Be aware that a spike does not always imply that there is a ghost or presence nearby. You will want to consider the other electric activity around you as well such as lights or appliances that may sometimes give you a false reading.
