How to Pack Your Personal Fishing Gear
Packing up your personal fishing gear really has more to do with selecting the correct things for the type of fishing that you are going to be doing. Consider the possible fish that you can catch before you pack up your personal gear in a tackle box.
Poles: There are several types of fishing poles on the market. Most of them are good for a specific type of fishing, some being heavier than others for bigger fish. After considering what types of fish you may catch, pack all the poles that will aid you in that process.
Lures: As with poles, some lures are better than others for catching specific types of fish because the fish are more attracted to them than others. Of course, you should pack any all-purpose lures you have as a backup option, but you will have better luck fishing by packing fish specific lures in your tackle box.
Bait: Whether you make your own bait or you purchase it from the bait shop, make sure that you pack more than you think you will need. Bait can easily fall off your hook as you are casting, a fish could eat it without touching the hook, or it can sometimes dissolve in the water. Packing extra in your personal stores will ensure that you won't have to find the nearest bait shop to stock up again.
Tackle Box: Once you have decided on what you're packing, place everything neatly in your tackle box so that you know where it is and can easily get to it when you need it. Make sure that the latch is working properly so that you don't spill everything on the floor when you pick it up.
