How to Compare Car Specs Side by Side

When your in the market for a new car, you will want to make sure you are getting the best vehicle possible at the best price possible. The easiest way to do this is to compare car specs side by side. Every car has many different specs and options. Sometimes you may have to sacrifice one thing to get another you really want.

  1. Go to the company website of the vehicle you are looking into purchasing. The website should have all of that brands different models and a place where you can select the car you want. Click to select this vehicle.

  2. Find the tab that says compare specs for this vehicle. Most cars come in at least two or three different packages. These packages start from basic options to fully loaded. This is where you need to be if you already know the car you want, but just need to compare packages.

  3. Go to the company website of another car company you would like to compare to. Some car company websites allow you to compare other brands right on their website so check for that option first. Once again go to the tab of the car you want and select compare car specs.

  4. Research the different specs for each vehicle and vehicle package you are interested in. Sometimes the websites have two or three different tabs for different categories of specs, make sure you check them all.

  5. Compare the fuel economy. With gas prices so high, one of the most important things to compare is how many miles per gallon the vehicle gets.

  6. Look at the safety features of each vehicle. This spec is also extremely important, especially for those with families.

  7. Check the size of the engine. You may be able to find a larger engine with about the same miles per gallon as a smaller engine.

  8. Look for other luxury options if those are important to you. Leather seats, a sunroof, CD player, and a subwoofer are some of the most popular options.

  9. Determine what colors the car comes in. Not all cars come from the factory in all colors. One car may not come in a color you like while another does. If the two vehicles other specs are comparable this could be a deciding factor.

  10. Make sure there is ample room for everyone in your family.
