How to Candy Walnuts

Candied walnuts are a delicious snack that's not only good for you but also cheap and simple to make. Although it might be associated with Christmas and the holiday months, it's also a suitable treat for anyone who has a craving for something sweet and healthy.


  1. Put 1/2 cup of walnut pieces on a greased cookie sheet and toast them in the oven at 350 degrees for 5 minutes.

  2. In a saucepan, mix together 1/4 cup of white sugar or artificial sweetener, 1/4 tsp. of salt and 4 tbsp. of butter.

  3. Stir the mixture over medium heat until it starts to caramelize; this should take about 2 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat.

  4. Pour the toasted walnut pieces into the saucepan and stir them until they are completely coated with the caramelized mix.

  5. Transfer the nuts back to the cookie sheet and separate them to prevent sticking. Allow them to cool before eating.
