How To Adjust the Snow Plow Blade Height on an ATV

An ATV is a versatile, fun vehicle, known for its ability to traverse different landscapes and operate in various climates. Because the ATV is able to operate efficiently in even cold climates, and is used in different outdoor activities in the winter, it is sometimes necessary to attach a snow plow to the front of the vehicle.

A snow plow blade on the ATV can really help with winter projects. During harsh winters, snow can cover the driveway, and an ATV can make short work of these plowing projects. It's certainly a lot less back breaking than a shovel. Because of the ATV's versatility, and ability to get into small places, it can also be used to clear walkways, sidewalks, and small road entrances during the winter months.

However a snow plow is not just useful in the winter. Attached to an ATV, the snow plow can also help level dirt for a driveway or other projects. Because it can move around and is not heavy, it can handle these small jobs much better than larger trucks, which stand the risk of getting trapped in muddy terrains.

Adjusting an ATV snow plow blade:

  1. Remove the angle retaining pin.

  2. Adjust the blade on the ATV in the right position, or angle, desired for the specific job.

  3. Return the retaining pin into its position.

  4. Be sure that the chain an hook are securely fashioned to the pin to keep it secure.

One thing to keep an eye on is the blade stops, which are the small rubber stoppers fastened to the blade. From time to time, it will be necessary to check the angle of the blade and determine if the nuts and bolts are tightened well, because they have a tendency to come loose.
