Don't forget the most important thing!

I write these words in December, the month that has come to personify consumerism and greed in western culture. That personificatin is shallow and misleading, for in truth the month of December is the traditional time in which Christians celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ into the world some 2000 years ago. We do not celebrate the beginning of Christianity, or the establishment of the institutional Christian church into the world. We celebrate the gracious and divine intervention of God the Father by sending His One and only Son to the world to bring salvation to lost humanity. He was born "for all men..." He came to "seek and save that which is lost..." He came to "defeat the work of the devil..." He came for me, He came for you! Do not forget what this all about, this Christmas season.
