When taking photographs of your own pets here are a few hints: 1. Contrast the backwith with their coloring. For example if you have a black and gold tabby, get a white or light blue pillow or bedding, or with white fur/feathers put your pet on a dark surface or background. 2. Have a 2nd helper that can calm and pet the animal until just before you take the photo. 3. Get below your pet (or raise your pet on a bed or table or chair) so the camera is eye level with them. 4. Turn off the flash on your camera and turn on lamps behind you or be in a well lit room. 5. Don't get in the pet's face with the camera, zoom in. 6. If a distraction is needed (i.e., for dogs) make noise behind the head of the photographer. 7. Take multiple photos (at least 3 or 4) in quick sucession. 8. You or someone praise the pet as you are taking the photo (make sure the voice comes from the camera area.) You can also call the professionals for that special touch! Enjoy your photos!
