Can you visit me at www.giftedboxcompany.net and give overview of site's look and feel? We just launched and aren't sure what we could add/change/fix to make the site better. Not even sure if search engines are finding us..... Any advice on either?

From my quick glance at the site, I see many things that can be done to improve the site. There are also many things that are done correctly.

Some good things to note on the site is that it makes use of URL Re-writing techniques which will help you in the search engines. However, I think that some of the names used could have been done a little better such as using dashes(-) to separate the individual words.

Some things that could be improved upon would be the graphical elements. There are hardly any on this site. Adding more graphics to make up your different content areas can really bring out the look of a site. Even doing small things such as adding a gradient background can do a lot for your design.

Another thing that I would personally change would be to set the content to be at a set pixel width and let the background stretch to 100%, not all the content. The site can look funny to users with larger monitors due to the stretching of content areas.

As for search engines, yes you are indexed. You can see your indexed page at any search engine by typing "site:giftedboxcompany.net". I would suggest re-writing your page titles to contain your targeted keywords to give you a start on improving your search engine optimization.

The site is actually done very well the white space is perfect and the colors are very well contrasted. There is not a lot of clutter and it looks clean. You do not want a copy cat of other sites and you want people to pay attention to the message you are trying to convey. I think you did a great job on this to be straight to the point.

I agree with Ricketts Web Design 100%.

The site is not bad, but it could be improved through some graphic elements (especially on the landing page) and color scheme changes.

I'd also agree that the links need to have more keyphrases, along with the titles and content!

And since I specialize it logos... I don't think yours is that bad either, but... it could use something (graphic, typography, something) besides "box company" that says you provide only the boxes.. not the gifts inside.

And if Ricketts hasn't already helped you! Come on down to Lime-light Designs... and Cast your business into the lime-light!

As far as usability, I saw no problem, other than some shoppers may be put off by having to register with your site before they can complete their order. I'd rethink that if I were you. You can always collect their email address as part of the checkout, not as a condition of it.

Rickett's is correct, but there are a number of other things you could do to improve its search engine ranking--especially if you're going after a national market. For instance, make sure you are using keywords not only in the title and url of each page, but also in the meta description and meta keywords, and each page should have it's own title, description and keywords relevant to the content on that page. Also, make liberal use of keywords in the text content of each page. And don't forget to use/include alt text for all your images; this is another great way to work keywords into your content.

    Also consider:

Adding a blog (search engines love blogs!) and integrating social media into your site.

Multichannel marketing--consider setting up merchant accounts/storefronts on Google Merchants, Amazon, eBay and others to offer more ways for shoppers to find you.

Offpage optimization - you only have a few backlinks to your website right now. If you continue to take advantage of free directory listings, such as Merchant Circle, that will also help with your search engine ranking.
