  1. How is a Tub Replaced?

How would a plumber go about replacing an older bathtub with a newer style if the tub won't fit through the wall? What would the homeowner's options be? Would the wall need to be cut out, or is there an alternative?

There are several options available and would most likely depend on the homeowners budget and preference. Since you mentioned your existing unit will not fit through the doorway, I am assuming you are speaking of a fiberglass unit and replacing it with another fiberglass unit.

Fiberglass tub and shower units come in a 3 piece design for remodeling. The old unit would be cut out in piece and the new unit assembled in place once the area has been prepped. These types of units also come as just a shower and there are handicap options for those who desire this type of change.
