Rumsey does not maintain its properties and doesn't seem to care about the well-being of its tenants. A leaking roof in our building has gone unrepaired for a year, the building is never cleaned or inspected, and everything is left in a state of disrepair. The office does not return phone calls or emails, and the staff is rude and unprofessional. They show up at your door to show the apartment unannounced at the most inconvenient times. We also had a break-in by a former tenant soon after moving in, and the Rumsey staff didn't even return my call. I will never rent from Rumsey again. I wish there was an option to not post a start at all, this rental agency is one of the worst I've ever dealt with. After several years of dealing with rental agencies in Tuscaloosa, Alabama I can honestly say (my opinion) that Blakeney Company is awful. Not only do they not respond to your problems throughout the term of your lease for days to weeks at a time, they completely ignore you at times. \t\n\t\nYou will mainly deal with the son of the founder, William Blakeney, who is awful at keeping his employees (and in my opinion himself) in line. Not only does he not respond to messages until it's completely convenient for him, but he will give you a ton of attitude. SEALY HAS GOT TO BE THE WORST REALTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY. I HAVE TO SAY THAT I HAVE RENTED FROM THEM FOR A FEW YEARS AND THAT EVERY TIME I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM IT HAS TAKEN SEVERAL CALLS TO GET RESOLVED, EVEN FOR THE MOST MINOR OF ISSUES. NOW THAT I HAVE HAD A BIG ISSUE THAT INVOLVES COMPROMISE OF SAFETY THEY CLEARLY DO NOT CARE. THEY HAVE MADE LIGHT OF THE SITUATION AND ARE NOW AVOIDING MY CALLS- BOTH THE ON-SITE OFFICE AND THE REGIONAL OFFICE. I HAVE REQUESTED SPECIFIC DOCUMENTATION FROM THEM WHICH THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE.
