But when we came to Southeastern, I could feel their family environment and friendliness. I felt comfortable right away! First off the customer service is horrible. The owner, Mark, is not a friendly man unless your a woman and then he will sexually harass you or make you feel uncomfortable. Also when i went to pick up my ring, a month later after the original visit, and of course the ring size was wrong. when we asked him to fix it he said he cant do it for another week, knowing full and well the propsoal was going to be made the next day. Then he said he only does layaway, which was nevered discussed to us previously, only said you can make 6 payments meaning spaced out not layaway. When we try to tell him thats not right and thats not good customer service he then proceeded to yell at us and said he will call cops b/c we were raising his blood pressure knowingly he was not doing us right. After serious consdieration we then said hey we will just pay for the full thing until he said he wanted cash only. Um what kind of jewelery store only accepts cash. Can we say sketchy. Mary, Bierco, and Amit at Daimonds Direct in Birmingham were the most helpful, informative, comforting and personable people I have ever delt with. I'm in beverage sales myself so I have seen quite a few company representatives in action. I give Diamonds Direct a five star rating because I have been dealing with them for almost two years now and no matter the request or what I wore into the store, whether Jeans and a tea-shirt or khakis and a button down shirt, I have been treated with the utmost respect and dignity by them. They took the time to teach me about how to choose a diamond so that I, the purchaser, can make an educated decision as to which quality of diamond will do best for my budget. They are in the business of educating their customers and not pushing you into something you really donâÂÂt want. Also, because of the fact that they own their diamonds, their sales persons are given the freedom to give you a price on a diamond of better quality than you would expect to get on the same diamond ANYWHERE else. Watch out, people! J.C. Penney is ripping people off during this Xmas shopping season. Check your receipts and you will see an extra charge for something called the "Afterschool Donation." They round up your purchase to the next dollar without asking you. Checking online, their "Afterschool" charity program is apparently legitimate, but what is illegitimate is the way they just take your money without posting any signs explaining what they are doing, nor do the sales clerks ask if you want to give before they rip you off! Do NOT shop J.C. Penney until they stop this and apologize to all their customers. This is theft, pure and simple! If they had only stopped to explain the charity I would have at least given a buck, but they could not be bothered to extend a customer that simple courtesy. ...read more
