Trees as a Lifetime Investment: Tips that are Sure to Work

How many of us consider trees as an investment? We usually think of investment in terms of money. We seldom think of trees as a way of investing for the future, not just for us but for our children. This makes tree planting a selfless investment because the ones to benefit from it is not us but the generations after us. Anybody who is planning to have atree plantinginKansas City, MO, and in any place for that matter, must keep this in mind.   Now, if you start thinking of trees as an investment, you will be more caring for them, from the time of their planting until they grow mature. This article will focus on tree planting because it is the part of the life of the tree that needs the greatest amount of attention.   The Best Time to Plant a Tree   The best time to plant a tree is when it is dormant season and after the leaves drop in fall or before the buds break in spring. Trees need cool weather conditions to establish their root system before the summer heat and spring rains start stimulating top growth. But if your tree has received proper treatment at the nursery and is carefully transported to its new planting site, it can be planted anytime during the growing season. In tropical regions, trees can be planted all year round. Anytime is a good time to plant trees as long as there is enough water. Whether in tropical or non-tropical climate, proper handling of the tree during planting is always essential for a healthy growth. Tree planting in Kansas City, MO must, therefore, take into consideration the area’s climate.   Transplant Shock   For a tree that is bare root or balled, its root system has surely been reduced to ninety to ninety-five percent of its original size when it is transported to its planting area. The digging process causes trauma to the tree, which in turn will experience transplant shock. Trees that are placed in a container also experience shock, especially if their roots are circling. Transplant shock slows down the growth of a tree and reduces its vigor.   It is, therefore, important for the planting site to be prepared properly for the planting. After the trees are planted, they must also be followed up with care. This lessens the amount of time a tree experiences transplant shock and increases its chances of adjusting immediately to its new surroundings.   Your chances of success on tree planting in Kansas City, MO will increase if you follow the abovementioned tips.   Premiere Tree Services of Kansas City, MO Land Clearing|Shrub Removal4741 Central Street #413Kansas City, MO 64112Phone:(816) 226-6344Customer Service: kansascitymo@premieretreeservices.com ...read more

Trees Compete for Space

Initially when we think of tree survival, the first thing that comes into our minds is that the trees with more root got more nutrients. Yes, there is indeed truth in this, however growing more roots also serve another purpose. That's making sure that there are no other trees that will grow close to them to get the nutrients it needs. It sounds so selfish of trees to not let other trees grow beside them. Just like human beings, trees also compete for space. They need enough space to spread their crown of leaves. They have to get the sun shine to produce more food. If there are trees that grow too close to them, then those trees will try to get the nutrients that they need. Fruit bearing trees will need other animals to spread their seeds in forest lands. By that way the trees don't grow too close to one another. There are instances when trees seedlings just drop off from the trees and grow close by. Those that grow the closest from the mother tree die-off and those that are blown a bit further, get the chance to grow like the tree where they came from. The extra roots that trees make safeguards the plant from those that may take the nutrients from them as a result younger trees don't get the nourishment they need when planted close to the ones with more roots. Roots are not only used to make sure that the tree will get all the nutrients that the tree will need. It is also used to make sure that other trees become less successful in growth. If you plan to put a lot of trees in a small space, check out if the type of trees you want to plant bear more roots than the ones around them. those that have more roots will just make sure that the trees will less, will not survive. That's survival of the fittest for trees. ...read more
