Do divert rainwater & snow melt from drain field. Do use water conservatively. Do fix leaking faucets & toilets. Do maintain grass cover over septic system. Don't grow trees on or by septic system. Do use cleaning products moderately. Do leave stand pipes up or mark them for maintenance. Don't empty a hot tub into the septic system. Don't add chemical or biological additives to your septic system. Don't use a garbage disposal. Don't use your system as a trash can. Do space out water usage throughout the day.
