About Kaltag, AK
Kaltag is a village in the eastern region of Alaska. It is located on the banks of the Yukon River in the Yukon-Koyukuk District. Every two years, Kaltag has a weeklong Stick Dance Festival that draws visitors from many of the surrounding villages. At the time of the 2000 census, the population was 230. The Yukon-Koyukuk School District includes Kaltag School and Minto School. Local businesses include Kaltag Headstart and Iditarod Trail Committee.
