We were surprised at how much fun the Discovery turned out to be. It was included in our week-long tour of Alaska. We hadn't expected much, but it became a highlight of our vacation. We especially enjoyed the sled dogs, Native village and sea plane take-off. The service was outstanding and the crew was knowledgeable and friendly. The cruise on Riverboat Discovery is very informative and scenic. It is also a real bit of Alaska history, operated by the same family for several generations, since the early days of Fairbanks. Large groups are accomodated with ease, as are individual travelers. Staff are friendly and articulate, and demonstrations of native Athabascan crafts and history are truly authentic.\t\nA real find. ...read more
