About Angoon, AK
Angoon is a part of the Juneau Recording District area of Alaska known for its Tlingit heritage and for having one of the highest populations of bears in Alaska. Major attractions include Admiralty Island National Monument and the paint on the front of the16 tribal houses on the island. Among the biggest companies in Angoon are the Chatham School District and the Favorite Bay Inn. The biggest school here is the Angoon School. Angoon has a thriving fishing industry. Anglers will enjoy the opportunity to fish for salmon and trout, as well as many other species of fish. Angoon is also unique in that it is researching non-diesel electric generation in the hopes that the town's electricity bills will be lowered.
