My front door lock assembly completely failed. Attempted to get in for half an hour without breaking anything with no luck. Called Alaska Lockout Services at 8:00 PM, July 21st 2009. He was here in about 25 minutes and said the springs had failed so he used force to unlock it. He completely replaced my door knobs/lock assembly, rekeyed my deadbolt to match it plus modified the deadbold faceplate to line up correctly. The ride itself wasn't bad, but as I was paying the cabdriver my wallet fell out of my purse and onto the cab floor (cash and wallet were seperate). I called Checker a few hours later and they confirmed that the driver had my wallet, but he hadn't turned it in yet. They said to call back in a few hours. I called back a few hours later and they said he wan't in yet and to call back in the morning. I called back in the morning (new shift) and they had no idea what I was talking about. I explained the situation and the supervisor said to call back on Monday, they'd have it then. Thats when I filed a police report. The police called Checker who said they had no record of my wallet. The police said there was nothing they could do and to call Checker back Monday like they asked. On Monday the female employee I spoke with was very rude and raised her voice. She said she couldn't help me and that here was no wallet and I should have called on Saturday when I noticed it missing. What?! ...read more

What is with those cab drivers out there in front of WalMart!? Do they think they're the only vehicle on the streets? Hello, can you look into your side mirrors & see if anyone is beside you before you leisurely move right into the traffic! I was driving past the WalMart entrance the other day and a Cabbie who'd obviously just picked up a fare there began to move into my lane of traffic with out so much of a signal stating he was doing so, let alone a look in his rear view mirror or side mirror. When I laid on my horn to let him know he was going to colide with me (I was on his left) he didn't even flinch! When he finally noticed - he flipped me off! Excuse me, but I'm quite sure his cab is equiped with a turn signal - just like most cars - and he should consider USING it!. Flipping me off for his stupidity - doesn't cut it, bucko.
