We have used fishing guide services in the Kenai / Soldotna area before, and decided on Alaska Fish On Charters as they seemed a bit cheaper. Old saying of you get what you pay for, applies here. We booked 10 months in advance with "Darlene", and she was very good at planning our trips until we paid for half. At that point getting a return phone call, or a return e-mail was like pulling teeth. I have hunting with Alaska Bush Adventures just this past season. I went for a 14 day Moose and Brown Bear guided trip and James was my guide. He was very personable, knowledgable and a hard working man. All of Alaska Bush Adventures guides have been with the company for over 10 years. My hunt was a success and the quality and quantity of the game was beyond my expectation. All hunters I cross paths with also had similar experiences. His hunting camps are very well stocked and his equipment is in good shape. It was nice to be able to take hot showers anytime and have the use of his argos and jet boats, which made the hunt alot easier than I had anticipated. However, hunting Alaska is not for the faint at heart and if you are not prepared for extreme hunting then you shoudl probably stay at home. The help in this store is great, but you can tell they are terrified of the management. If you have questions and they seem to be talking too much, I have been talking to a sales clerk and had them get quite and walk away when the manger or owner came by. The owner's have a store in the Captain Cook, and I have have overheard the staff being belittled. I have purchased from this store for many years, but they are pricey and hard to return items too. I would prefer to support local, but I find I have a much better experience on Amazon.com than this place. ...read more
