We were pleased to find a gospel music group in Anchorage. On the last Thursday nite, we went to the Alaska Native Hospital. However, the music was all electric, none of the traditonal instruments used in gospel music. Also, the instruments were out of sync and tune, loud to the point of intrusiveness and we couldn't hear the songs. It's too bad that the youth of today value loud noisy instruments and not the message of the songs' wording. All in all, the "Shavings Family band" was made up of only two actual family members, and all of the electric instruments masculated the real meaning and purpose of gospel music. Praise the Lord. I just want to reach out to the amazing folks at the Anchorage Mission and say thank you. Your courses on how to study properly really helped my son with hjis grades--and more importantly it helped teach him to find out and learn to think for himself, the course on ow to communicate well (and even in tough situations) has helped my marriage and my career, the course that teaches how to identify and handle those individuals who are very afraid that I might actually succeed (so go out of their way to stop me--but in hidden ways) iis so simple but so powerful.
