Review of AAMCO TRANSMISSIONS AND COMPLETE CAR CARE
these guys are officially my buddies.
At first, I was annoyed by AAMCO. I was calling around to get a price for a transmission rebuild, and was ready to spend around $2000. No matter what I did, the manager was insistent on seeing the car first because in his words "what you are experiencing may not be a transmission issue". I was so frustrated! I had already had my car checked out by one of their competitors, and gotten a price of $3200.
My dad told me to take it there anyways, and get a second opinion. I did, and they diagnosed the problem (FOR FREE) as a bad sensor that wasn't even on the transmission! It cost $400 to repair, and they even threw in a free oil change just because they noticed I needed one.
If you are looking for an honest shop, you can't get more honest then this. I walked in with $2000 cash in hand, that I would have been happy to spend, and spent less than a quarter of that. They are officially the only shop I will take my car to from now until I graduate. Thanks guys!
