Keep going! Much better restaurants ahead!

The food is mediocre at best but the prices they get are higher than any in the better Maine resort areas, such as Boothbay Harbor, Camden or Bar Harbor. I'm not sure who came up with the pricing for this place, but they are dreaming. We hadn't been there in years but were attending a show in Bath and this was convenient. I wish we had had more time, we would have got up and left when we saw the prices. $39 for a lobster roll? $64 for a shore dinner? In April? For the prices they charged, you might expect something special. Not so. The food was something you would see at Denny's, not inedible, but not a treat. Certainly not worth what they charge. Keep going to Wiscasset, Damariscotta, New Harbor,... anywhere! You'll find much better seafood at a much better price and with a much better view. This dive will leave you with a Bad Taste of Maine.

Do not patronize this tourist trap!

They should call this place "A Taste of Shame"... I'd rather throw my money into the river this tourist trap overlooks, than spend it there again. Had lunch there today (11/26/06)... the steamed mussels were ok, but drowned in loads of garlic sauce -- which was more like a soup. The fried haddock was undercooked and had a peculiar, bland breading on it. The "steak fries," were probably Oreida potato wedges, as we could taste the freezer burn on them. My dining partner had the "haddock supreme," the newburgh sauce was bland, the dish was served luke-warm, and the fish was described as "slimy."\t\n\t\nAnd, to top it off, they charged us for soda refills, without letting us know (very tacky!). To make things worse, the 15-year-old waitress had only 2 tables to wait on, including ours, yet we had to wait for eternity for her to show up and bring things to the table -- and she never checked back to make sure everything was ok. Sure, the views are beautiful, but the food and the service are dismal. If you are a tourist, please stay away from this place -- instead, try a local lobster shack or some other establishment that is truly authentic. Avoid this disappointing rip-off.

Good food, Good service

This restaurant is awesome. It can be for a casual or romantic affair. The staff is nice and seats you promptly. The view is beautiful and the prices are fantastic (very affordable). Their deserts and drinks are good.
