Pearl of the Orient restaurants are consistently voted Best Chinese restaurants by Cleveland Magazine and Northern Ohio Life and appeared in numerous magazine and newspaper articles, including USA Today. The original Shaker Heights location opened in1979 and was the first Szechuan restaurant in Cleveland. The second Rocky River location has an 18-year record of accomplishment and has undergone extensive remodeling to include patio dining and a sushi bar.

With the increase in business relationships with Asia, Pearl has been chosen by most Corporations as the restaurant to entertain business associates and dignitaries, whether it is in the restaurant or catered in homes or offices. These dinners ranges from the popular menu items to the rare delicacies never found on ordinary tables. 10-course Chinese banquets are available upon request.

Among the more unusual entrees the restaurants offer are Wok Seared Salmon in Black Bean Sauce, Fire Cracker Beef, and Chicken with Mango and Honeyed Walnuts.
