A declining business in La Vista Nebraska
Today, was a very frustrating experience at our local A & W/Long John Silvers. We waked into the restaurant and found it dirty and so very unprofessional. We walked up to the counter and the young man took our order. He needed a manager to complete the transaction because we were using a coupon. It took the manager a long time to come to the counter because they appeared to be short staffed. We received our cups and went to the drink counter, which was broken. There was a puddle of liquid that been leaking for a while obviously, and there was not a protective sign that indicated that the floor was wet, so my husband found the yellow wet floor sign and propped it up by the soda fountain. We had been in the restaurant for over 20 minutes and had not gotten our food so we walked over to the counter to wait, hoping it might jog their memories about our meal. I watched the manager once again come to the counter to handle a coupon order and then he promptly went back to the food preparation area and finally began to do our order. It had been 20 minutes, but the problem that I had with this (because I had a direct view of the food prep area), was that he went from the register, after handling a coupon and money and went straight to handling my food. He didn't wear gloves, nor wash his hands! Once during this event,
he wiped his hands on his apron and then continued on making my food. When he brought our sack to us, he apologized for the wait, and I addressed him by name, and told him I was concerned that he didn't wear gloves, and went straight from handling money and coupons at the register to handling my food. He said, and I quote. "I'm sorry, this is the way that we always do it" I thanked him, and left the restuarant and of course I threw my food away upon leaving the restaurant. I was so disappointed that this was not even a concern to him, So I'm sure that this probably is regular protocol for this restaurant , and I'm certain that if someone doesn't get extremely sick from poor food handling, that someone else will take
a fall and sue them. So disappointing.

re- coupons
We used to get the coupons in the mail all the time. This year we have received none. Finally went to A & W after 5 months of not going and talked to the manager. He said to talk to the mailman. He was not delivering them.
Did that and he said A&W designates where the coupons are to be delivered. A&W is our favorite fast food restaurant but I refuse to pay full price when there are coupons to be had. Hope you will answer my question.

I truly love A&W I always have even as a child but about a month ago myself and two others went to your store in waseon ohio and received the worst service I could ever imagine not to mention the employees were horriable to us and the place was filthy and not run well.
